Jamaican Mother Buries Son & Aspiring Basketball Star

Bronxville, NY. Wednesday July 15, 2020 -- Approximately three weeks after his sudden death, politicians, family, teammates and friends came out to pay their final respects to Monroe High School Senior and aspiring basketball star, Brandon Hendricks-Ellison.

Brandon who was fatally shot in his neck outside his Bronx apartment on June 29, two days after his June 27 graduation, was a gifted 17-year old and was a potential walk on for St. John's University, this Fall.

FAREWELL. Noted Civil Rights activist Rev Al Sharpton offered the eulogy at the funeral service for Brandon Hendricks-Ellison, Bronx.

Rev. Al Sharpton who offered the eulogy during services at the First Baptist Church in Bronxville, ask, "why we live in a city of Wall Street and Sky scrapers but can’t get the guns and bullets out of the city?”


He also reminded the audience that black culture was not about how low we go but how far we came from.
