ANNUAL GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER – PART 2, AUGUST 7-8, 2020

By Aubrey Campbell

BROOKLYN, NY. Thursday, July 09, 2020 --- The ByWay & Hedges Ministry of New York will stage and extension of its annual White House Prayer for the Nation, on Friday and Saturday, August 7-8, 2020.

The first prayer event was held on Saturday, May 2, and was done in the virtual space (online) due to the pandemic, which has forced restrictions on all in person gatherings.

Rev. Terry Lee, senior pastor at the ByWays & Hedges Ministry and head of the prayer movement, said that the ongoing dislocation and displacement caused by the corona virus disease (COVID 19), made it necessary to have a second prayer for the nation.

“The overall success of our first event and the recent groundswell of support for change in our society, tell me that there is need for more prayer for our nation and those in charge, and so on the weekend of August 7-8, we will again put on the whole armor of God and pray for his divine blessings, for having brought us this far.”

First started in the summer of 1998, the prayer event anchors a day of reconciliation in the nation’s capital by clergy from different nations and faiths, in prayer for spiritual awakening.

Not having the option to travel from Brooklyn to the Washington, DC, pastors and prayer warriors from across the nation, will meet in the online, for not one but two days of prayer.

“Many families in America and around the world are experiencing despair, uncertainty, hopelessness and grief,” according to Lee, a Jamaican pastor and respected community activist in central Brooklyn, NY.

Highlights of the 2-day, weekend vigil will include; prayer for the nation and the different branches of government, messages from world leaders a sing-along with some of the best voices in gospel music. Among the early confirmations are; Carlene Davis, Joan Myers, Gerry Thompson, Stacy Wilson, Jabez and Ricky Payne.

The event which starts at 10.00 am thru’ 4.00 pm, each day, will be streamed live on a number of networks. For more information regarding live streaming and other social media platform, please call: 667-930-9544
