Belize
The Belize Government says it is not recommending
non-essential travel to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Iran, Italy and
Japan, as the country continues to monitor the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19)
that has killed more than 2,700 people in those countries.
While
the majority of the deaths have occurred in China, where the virus was first
detected, the authorities here said the virus has now spread to 34 countries
outside of mainland China.

Jamaica
Jamaica’s Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher
Tufton says the authorities are making every effort to prevent importation of
the coronavirus (COVID-19), but at the same time it must be understood that the
chances of having a case of the virus in Jamaica is real.
He was responding last week to questions about whether Jamaica would be willing to impose travel restrictions on the United States, given that the Americans have reported several inter-country cases of the deadly COVID-19, in a number of states, including California and New York.
